Fits these Mazda tunnels without cutting – Rx2, Rx3/808, Rx4/929, 323, Rx7.
Stock TKX gearlever position is correct for Rx2 thru Series 1 Rx7. The shifter housing can be turned 180 degrees to the forward position if required.

Optional extras:

  • Modular steel bell housing. CNC machined in-house for alignment accuracy. Bolts up to any rear plate, except twin dizzy. Compact design gives more tunnel clearance than a stock FC bell housing. Meets NZDRA/IHRA/ANDRA requirements. Works with FC starter motor.
  • Billet adapter kit – suits stock FC bell housing.
  • Tilton hydraulic release bearing kit – includes plumbing, bleeder, height shims, fasteners. Versions to suit 5.5in, 7.25in, 8in, 8.5in, 9.5in clutches.
  • Billet alloy layback shifter, black anodised – exits original tunnel hole in Rx2, Rx3/808, 323, S1 Rx7 (gear knob position same as factory). Rx4/929 specific shifter also available.
  • Billet remote shifter – suit FC & FD.

The Tremec TKX shifting capability has been proven to 10,000rpm behind NA 13B PP engines, a significant improvement over the Tremec TKO. A case redesign has improved strength, so in theory the TKX should handle well over 850hp at the wheels. In addition, this redesign has reduced the physical size of the TKX when compared to the TKO, resulting in easier fitment to early Mazda’s.

In car removal: The TKX can be unbolted from our alloy bell housing adapter, and from our modular steel bell housing. This enables ease of removal without affecting the release bearing etc. This is especially useful in vehicles with an exhaust system that gets close to the bell housing. In addition, the alloy adapter can be unbolted from the steel bell housing for release bearing access, without removing the bell housing from the vehicle or disconnecting the release bearing hoses.
